Speaking into the earpiece and listening through the mouthpiece pretty much sums up the problem with this Government.

Wes Streeting MP (Labour) tweeted :

Looks like we’re ending the day with the prospect of talks between the opposition parties and Tory MPs opposed to No Deal. Good. This is urgent. There is barely no time left and no plan as yet. Time to crack on with it. Everyone should be willing to compromise to get this done.

Wes Streeting MP (Labour) tweeted :

The UK will crash out of the EU in 77 days without a deal unless Parliament acts. In reality, that means acting on September 3rd. The Lib Dems night not want to open the door of Number 10 to Jeremy Corbyn, but surely his letter opens the door to talks? labourlist.org/2019/08/the-li…

As I told @CityAM, @jeremycorbyn’s letter should be treated seriously by everyone committed to stopping no deal. @joswinson and the @LibDems are wrong to reject it outright. It should be the basis for the start of serious talks about how we stop No Deal when Parliament returns.

Just spoken to @SkyNews about @jeremycorbyn’s letter to the Cabinet Secretary. This Government has no mandate for no deal. He’s write to warn it would be an ‘anti-democratic abuse of power’ to pursue no deal without any democratic mandate. We need a motion of no confidence ASAP. https://t.co/iQHiNfU2ki

Today’s GDP figures show the worst performance in six and a half years. ONS data shows that services, manufacturing and construction. And we have a Government pursuing a ‘no deal’ Brexit that will harms business, jobs and livelihoods. Anti-business and pro-dogma.
