Despite the Labour First Minister claiming that testing is increasing, latest statistics show 1½ days’ worth of NHS Wales capacity was used in a whole week, with 22,848 tests being carried out.

The Labour Welsh Government has a history of failing to conduct sufficient tests for Wales’ Track, Trace &Protect system to be effective. A leaked report said Wales would need to increase testing to 36,000 per day to track infections. Just 10% are being carried out daily in Wales

Wales still has a disproportionately high rate of Covid-19 infection. At 267.1 per 100,000, Wales has a much higher rate of infection per 100,000 than both Scotland and England at 162.6 and 228.1 per 100,000 respectively.
