@Zwirnor Because we’re not against one in theory, but we’re not prepared to fall for Boris Johnson’s trap. He required a 2/3 majority tonight so abstention and voting against has the same effect.

Boris Johnson’s issue is that if believed there was an Irish border solution without the need for a backstop, he wouldn’t be concerned about the backstop because it would never come into effect. How can he ask people to trust that he has the answer when he doesn’t trust himself?
